Monther Abu-Remaileh is a molecular biologist. His PhD thesis “Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Oncogenicity” was written under the supervision of Prof. Yehudit Bergman. The PhD was awarded as part of a joint  direct PhD track in The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Hadassah Medical School.

Monther’s first interest and area of research include understanding the role of the pluripotency maintaining factor Oct-3/4 in governing embryonic stem cell characteristics by modulating the Wnt/b-catenin pathway. Currently, Monther studies the molecular mechanisms that underlie the oncogenic potential of Oct-3/4 in germ cell tumors.

Monther’s did his undergraduate work in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) Irbid, Jordan, HE received his BSc in 2006. He graduated with distinction and ranked at the top of his class.

Additionally, Monther is studying the epigenetic regulation of gene expression during inflammation and cancer.

Monther is married and a father to a 3 year old son.
