Avichai Marmor is a Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics at Bar-Ilan University, supervised by Prof. Nathan Keller and Prof. Itai Dinur. His research centers on combinatorics, especially its algebraic and probabilistic aspects, as well as its connections to cryptography and theoretical computer science. He completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics at Bar-Ilan University summa cum laude, under the supervision of Prof. Ron Adin and Prof. Yuval Roichman, after earning his B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics there, also summa cum laude. Earlier, he participated in Israel’s Program for the Advancement of Mathematically Talented Youth, an experience that helped foster his early commitment to mathematical research.
Marmor’s academic work includes research on Boolean functions, characters of the symmetric group, graph colorings, and other topics in combinatorics. His papers have been accepted for publication in leading journals and conferences, including Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, the STOC conference, European Journal of Combinatorics, and Algebraic Combinatorics.
Alongside his academic research, Marmor has also taken part in several applied cryptography projects, including consulting for cybersecurity company dWallet Labs and collaborating in cryptanalytic research on the well-known cipher AES. He regards academia as his long-term professional home and hopes to combine ambitious mathematical research with teaching and mentorship.
