Institution of PhD:
Bar-Ilan University
Academic Discipline of PhD:
Electro-Optical Engineering
PhD Advisor/s:
Prof. Avinoam Zadok
Dissertation Topic:
Quantum Nonlinear SU1,1 Interferometer Over Standard Optical Fibers

Elad was born in 1993 and raised in Bnei-Brak. He completed his BSc in electrical engineering at Bar-Ilan University, with an emphasis on electro-optics and nano-electronics, graduating cum laude in 2020. He received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in undergraduate studies twice and gained industrial experience as a student programmer.

After completing his MSc degree cum laude in electrical engineering at Bar-Ilan University under the supervision of Prof. Avi Zadok in 2022, Elad proceeded to doctoral studies with the Zadok group. His research focuses on opto-mechanical and non-linear interactions in optical fibers. His current project seeks to implement quantum sensing protocols using standard optical fibers and detectors, beyond the sensitivity that can be reached using classical light. Elad is a co-author of ten publications in scientific journals and has delivered several presentations at international conferences.

Elad lives in Givat Shmuel with his wife, Roni, and their baby girl, Shoham.
